Alpina Gruen Doctor’s Watch Silver Dial circa 1930’s

A phenomenal occurrence from the 1930’s – This Alpina Gruen watch has many features which are just plain gorgeous. Take a look at the dial lay-out for example. The Art Deco style minute track is complimented by the separation of the seconds hand dial. The logo is placed at the very top of the dial, which why the design of the dial isn’t compromised in any way. Would you call it a scientific dial? Furthermore, the tank-style case features an astonishing in-house movement, which was also used by Rolex for their doctors watches. Its extremely difficult to find these examples in original, and good condition. This case variant has the solid lugs, instead of the more fragile lugs which are crafted from thin ‘wire’. This creates a more bold and solid appearance on the wrist and is overall just better in terms of how long it will last. The icing on the cake is the period correct riveted bracelet, made by CLEWCO.
