PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Cartier Ceinture is one of Cartier’s most distinctive yet understated designs. Introduced during the 1970’s, the model takes its name from the French word for belt, referring to the square bezel that resembles a belt buckle. Compared to the Tank or Santos, the Ceinture was produced in far smaller numbers, making it an increasingly desirable choice among collectors looking for something less commonly seen.

This example, dating to circa 1975, is crafted in 18k yellow and white gold. The contrasting metals beautifully emphasize the geometric case design, while the balanced 27 x 27 mm proportions give the watch an elegant yet contemporary wrist presence. The classic white dial with Roman numerals is unmistakably Cartier and perfectly complements the architectural design of the case.

Power comes from an ETA movement finished by Cartier, reflecting the maison’s practice during this period of using reliable Swiss movements enhanced to its own standards. The watch is accompanied by its original Cartier box, a new unworn hand made leather strap, and its original Cartier plated buckle, making it a complete and highly attractive vintage Cartier.
