PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This elegant rectangular IWC from the mid 1940’s features a beautifully curved ‘Galbée’ style case in 14k yellow gold. The case remains in crisp condition, with softly rounded hooded lugs that give the watch a refined and sculptural appearance on the wrist.

The use of 14k gold suggests the watch was originally intended for the American market. This is further reinforced by the rare Tiffany & Co. retailer signature on the dial, connecting the watch directly to one of the most prestigious jewellers in the United States. The original silvered raised enamel dial is fitted with faceted solid gold markers and a railroad minute track, creating an elegant and highly detailed layout typical of high grade dress watches from the period.

Power comes from the IWC calibre 87 manual wind movement, serviced in May 2026. The in-house calibre 87 is regarded as one of IWC’s finest movements, known for its reliability and exceptionally high level of finishing. Produced circa 1944, this is a rare and highly attractive example combining design, condition, and an important retailer signature.
