This Jaeger-LeCoultre is right up there with among others Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin when compared in quality and design. These brands made similar wristwatches with teardrop-style lugs in the 1940s, most of the time with a modest size of 30mm. These models fetch far above 5000 euro.
This example leaves few to desire. This attractive Jaeger-LeCoultre Calatrava features a very rare and collectible salmon dial, an in-house caliber, and a relatively large watch case in stainless steel. Most of these examples were made with subsidiary seconds, at the 6 ‘o clock position. Finding one in this well-preserved condition in a central seconds execution, is a collectors summum!
