Jaeger-LeCoultre Uniplan ‘Tank’ Black Sector Dial 18k Yellow Gold circa 1935

This Jaeger LeCoultre Uniplan ‘Tank’ is a beautifully preserved example from the mid 1930’s, housed in an elegant 18k yellow gold case made by Edmund Jaeger, identified by the EJ stamp inside the case. The watch features an original black sector dial with outer railroad minute track, creating strong contrast and excellent legibility. Gold printed Arabic numerals and lines complement the warm tone of the case and enhance the refined Art Deco character of the design.

The rectangular case measures 21.5 mm wide with a 36 mm lug to lug length, giving the watch elegant proportions and a strong wrist presence for its era. The watch was last serviced in May 2026, and has not been worn since. Based on the 55.XXX movement number, the production date is estimated circa 1935. A noteworthy detail are the matching numbers on the case back, and within the case of the watch (‘2  3  4’).

The watch remains in remarkable, almost like new condition and is fitted with an Italian, handmade nubuck strap in period correct design, featuring ‘boxed’ stitching, and a rounded tip. Furthermore, the watch has been fitted with a custom-made mineral glass to honor its overal mint condition. Finding a watch like this from the 1930’s in this condition and finishing, would be more likely in a museum, but here it is, for you to grab.
