PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This Longines ref. 5528 “Sei Tacche” is a beautifully preserved example of one of the brand’s most iconic mid-century designs. The Italian nickname Sei Tacche refers to the six notches on the screw-down case back, a hallmark of Longines’ robust waterproof cases from the era. While many examples were produced in smaller sizes, this rare 36 mm variant offers a more contemporary and versatile presence on the wrist.

The original radium dial has developed a warm, crème brûlée–like patina, giving the watch exceptional character. The Arabic numerals and aged luminous material pair perfectly with the stainless steel case, creating a look that is both utilitarian and deeply charming. Powering the watch is Longines’ respected manual-wind cal. 12.68Z, known for its reliability and elegant construction.

This example features matching case and case-back numbers under the upper-left lug — a significant detail for collectors. Additionally, the watch was serviced in May 2025 and has not been worn since, making it ready for everyday enjoyment or long-term preservation.

Highlights

  • Matching case and case-back numbers

  • Serviced in May 2025, unworn since

  • Rare 36 mm case (most Sei Tacche examples are 32 mm)
