Breguet numerals, a François Borgel case in solid 14k yellow gold, and the personal touch which the ‘JRN’ signature gives us, makes this such an attractive vintage Movado watch. That attractive François Borgel watch case has more to it then just its looks. FB was one of the most important case makers in the 1930 until the late 1950’s, while they produced the casings for among others, the infamous Patek Philippe 565, and Patek Philippe 1463 Tasti Tondi chronograph. François Borgel also lend their services for small quantities of Movado en Doxa watches, which can be seen on this watch! Furthermore, the combination with the dial design and movement quality, this little Movado watch handles like a baby Patek Philippe wristwatch from the 1940’s/ early 1950’s.
