PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
By the late 1960s, Omega’s De Ville line had matured into a showcase of refined elegance and technical innovation. Known for its sleek design and sophisticated movements, the De Ville Chronograph stood apart as a dressier alternative within Omega’s sports-driven chronograph offerings. This Ref. 146.017, dating to 1969 (based on its 29 million serial number), captures the essence of that era in a rare and beautifully balanced form.
Housed in a 35 mm stainless steel case, the watch features a white sunburst dial with applied markers, presenting a clean, symmetrical two-register chronograph layout. Beating inside is the Omega in-house cal. 930, a column-wheel chronograph movement with date, representing one of the most sophisticated manual chronograph calibers Omega ever produced.
This example comes in freshly serviced condition, with the full service performed by Wesselink & Vreeker, Omega’s official service center, in January 2025. It also retains its original Omega box and Omega-signed buckle, making it a complete and collectible set.
Highlights:
✔ Original Omega box – A rare surviving accessory
✔ Original Omega buckle – Retaining period authenticity
✔ Fresh Omega service in 01-2025 – Carried out by Wesselink & Vreeker
✔ In-house cal. 930 movement – Omega’s last hand-wound chronograph caliber with date
With its clean proportions, rare movement, and full collector’s set, this Omega De Ville Chronograph represents a high point of late-’60s Omega engineering and design — a timepiece equally suited for daily wear or serious collecting.
