Omega 2639 ‘Sub-Seconde’ from 1950 Tropical patina 36 mm

Omega is a Swiss watch brand that was founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt. the company has a long history of producing high-quality watches, and the Seamaster model is one of their most iconic lines. The Omega Seamaster was first introduced in 1948 and is still in production. Seamaster watches were water resistant and durable watches that were first introduced by Omega in 1948. The Seamaster line of watches is characterized by its distinctive design and high-quality craftsmanship.

This early reference 2639 is a large stainless-steel watch with a large sub-secondes dial, that was produced in 1950, just two years after the original release of the Seamaster model.

The watch features a 36 mm case diameter, and an in-house Omega 265, manual wind movement. On top of the extraordinary patinated and SWISS MADE signed, dial sits an acrylic crystal and a smooth bezel made of stainless-steel. These elements bring all aspects in this watch together to create a rare and beautiful watch. The condition of this very early Omega watch is very good, and it comes with the original luminous material, in both hands and on the dial. Both the dial and hands have a beautiful warm ‘Tropical’ patina which adds to the charm of this watch.

The cherry on the cake for this specific Omega Seamaster, is the presence of a very large sub-dial, which display the seconds-hand very elegantly.

Overall, this watch is an excellent example of Omega’s Seamaster line of watches and is sure to be a treasured addition to any collection. It is truly a classic watch that will be enjoyed for many years to come.
