Rolex Oyster Precision 6426 ‘Leaf Hands’ from 1964

Rolex is a Swiss luxury watchmaker that was founded in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis. The company is best known for its line of Oyster watches, which are widely considered to be some of the best-made and most iconic timepieces in the world. Rolex has been a major innovator in the watchmaking industry, and its Oyster Perpetual models are one of the most iconic and sought-after watches.

Condition
This classic and iconic Rolex reference 6426 was first introduced in the 1950’s as an alternative for the larger 36 mm measuring models, such as the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust. This Rolex measures 34 mm and features the same features as the Rolex Datejust: Both watches feature the iconic Oyster casing, which was back then, patented by Rolex for its water resistance. Also, the watch has a smooth bezel, which brings all elements of the watch together in a sophisticated manner. Last but not least, this stunning vintage Rolex from the 1950’s features a screwed Rolex Oyster Crown, and the thick screw-on case back, making it a solid vintage piece.

When we look at the case of this watch, we see some light signs of wear. Overall however, judging this 70+ year old watch, the watch is in a very good condition and is ready to be worn as a daily and trustworthy wrist-companion. Also the movement runs very strong, leaving you with a watch that is mostly stunning to look at, and is very well matched with sportive or more formal wear. It’s guaranteed that you will catch yourself looking at this dial often, because of it’s exquisite simplicity and high-end characteristics. The icing on the cake are the blue colored sweeping seconds hand, which effortlessly floats over the dial.
