PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Mesmerising Vacheron Constantin, presumably sold by Cartier! Notice the inventory numbers on the case back. Also, the watch was bought by me in total barn find condition. The original leather strap strongly resembles those of Cartier from this period, and it was also on this period correct rose gold Cartier deployment clasp.
Now, back in full glory. Fully serviced, and fitted with a handmade leather strap. Of course, we chose to preserve the beautiful gold patina on the case. The case appears unpolished, and with incredibly well defined French eagle hallmarks, and of course the (Cartier) inventory number. My guess is that this watch was sold by Cartier on customers request, to celebrate a certain milestone. Hence the engraving.
Everyday, we learn more about the incredible history and details about 1940’s/1950’s French watch market. This therefore, is a fantastic new uncovering.
