IWC Calatrava ‘Coin Edge’ 35 mm 18k yellow gold circa 1945

Here we have an absolute stunner of a vintage Calatrava watch from circa 1945, from IWC (International Watch Company). The watch is housed in an unbelievable large 18kt yellow gold case which has a finishing we have never seen before. The sides show beautiful chamfers which create a unique presence on the wrist, and emphasize the large 35 mm size of the watch. It strongly reminds us of a vintage Patek Philippe, when looking at the size and elegant finishing. The dial features stunning large applied Roman indices, which compliment the colour of the dial and case. Inside runs a manual wind, in-house IWC caliber (cal. 83). The superb condition of the movement is a pleasure for the eye, which we have tried to capture during the photography of the watch. Furthermore, this watch is fitted on a phenomenal ‘Hermes-style’ leather strap, to ensure maximal wearing comfort and pleasure.
