Juvenia Disco Volante ‘Fab. Suisse’ Black Gilt Dial 18k Yellow Gold circa 1940’s

Founded in 1860, Juvenia has always embraced bold design and technical finesse. This extraordinary example from the 1940s, affectionately nicknamed “Disco Volante” (Italian for “Flying Saucer”), demonstrates the brand’s daring aesthetic during a golden age of Swiss watchmaking.

Crafted in 18k yellow gold, this rare piece features a lugless, rounded case design — a futuristic vision in its time — earning it the flying saucer nickname. Its 31 mm case offers a larger wrist presence, appearing closer to 33 mm, thanks to the ultra-slim bezel and the visual strength of the mesmerizing black gilt dial.

The dial, signed ‘Fab. Suisse’, indicates that it was likely produced for the French market — a theory supported by the fact that the watch was originally purchased in France. The sector-style layout further enhances the refined symmetry of this piece, while the manually wound movement, decorated with Côtes de Genève, delivers Swiss mechanical beauty beneath the surface.

This timepiece is complemented by a handmade leather strap, offering modern comfort while staying true to the vintage character.
